6 updates to Waze to help you get around safely and conveniently

Whether it's highlighting crash-prone roads along a route, displaying road hazards like potholes or showing the closest electric vehicle charging stations, Waze helps drivers navigate more safely and conveniently. Today, we have even more updates to help make your trips safer and more predictable. Thanks to insights from local Waze drivers, community members and municipal partners, these updates help you get information about navigating the roads, finding parking and more.

Get help navigating tricky roundabouts

Knowing how to navigate a roundabout can be confusing, especially if you're in a new part of town. Now with the help of local Waze community members, you’ll clearly see when to enter, which lane to choose, and where to exit so you don't miss your turn. Rolling out globally to Android users this month and iOS users later this year.

Help keep first responders safe along your route

Now you can be alerted in advance when emergency vehicles, like an ambulance, are stopped along your route so you can adjust your driving as needed - keeping you and first responders safer. Thanks to information from our Waze for City partners, this update is available now to drivers in the US, Canada, Mexico and France on Android and iOS, with more countries coming soon.

Never miss a speed limit sign again

No one enjoys getting a speeding ticket. Thanks to Waze’s up-to-date information about speed limits around the world, you’ll start seeing alerts when a speed limit is about to decrease along your route, giving you more time to slow down and safely adjust to the changing road conditions. Find stress-free parking options

We’ve teamed up with Flash to offer even more helpful information about parking garages, including what it costs, if it’s covered, if it’s wheelchair accessible, if there are valet options and if there’s EV charging stations available. You’ll even be able to reserve your parking space right from the Waze app to save you time.

New parking information starts rolling out in the coming weeks on Android and iOS for over 30,000 parking garages across the U.S. and Canada including major cities like New York, Chicago and Montreal.

See helpful information about your favorite routes

Many Waze drivers tell us they prefer taking their favorite routes to frequently visited places, like home or work, even if they aren’t the fastest option. Beginning this month, Waze is making it easier to see information about your usual routes, including live traffic updates and delays along the way. You can use this information to quickly compare your favorite routes with alternate ones and choose the route that’s right for you. This update rolls out this month globally on Android and iOS.
